Employees Mapping

Link each employee to their ID on the physical device, so incoming punches match the right person.

Employees Mapping is where each employee gets linked to their ID on the physical device — Employee ID is your internal SigmaTurn ID (shown for reference), and Biometric User ID is the matching ID from the device itself. Saving a mapping is what lets future attendance logs from the device sync automatically for that person.

Mapping an employee

  1. 1Go to Biometric → Employees Mapping.
  2. 2Switch between Active Employees, Inactive Employees, and All Employees, or search by name.
  3. 3Enter each employee's Biometric User ID — the ID they were (or will be) enrolled under on the physical device — or click Fetch All Biometric Data to pull IDs already enrolled on connected devices instead of typing them by hand.
  4. 4If a specific employee should be required to punch on a physical device rather than clocking in from the app, turn on "force biometric clock-in" for them here too.
  5. 5Save. Each row's Status shows Not Configured until a Biometric User ID has been entered and saved.

Key fields

  • Employee ID (internal, for reference) and Biometric User ID (from the device)
  • Status — Not Configured or Configured
  • "Force biometric clock-in" — requires that employee to punch a device rather than clock in from the app
  • Refresh Employees List and Fetch All Biometric Data

Employee-to-device syncing isn't instant — a sync is queued and only actually reaches a device the next time that device checks in, which is why the Commands screen exists.

Not necessarily — Fetch All Biometric Data pulls IDs already enrolled on your connected devices for you.

Mapping records the ID association; the actual sync is queued and only reaches the device the next time it checks in. Check the Commands screen to see whether it's gone through.

Yes — turn on "force biometric clock-in" for them from this screen.
